About Phil McTaggart
Phill led a £45m national business services group for over 9 years until he successfully sold the business in 2008. He has held senior positions in a number of listed and private companies (including ASDA Stores; BET plc and Rentokil Initial plc) and has worked in both the commercial and public sectors.
During his career he has taken new products from idea through to successful commercial implementation, grown sales in the public sector environment from £4m to £12m within three years. Lead a £26m Management Buy Out of his business from public to private, subsequently conducting a number of business mergers, acquisitions and disposals. He has implemented successful change programmes turning business losses of £1.2m to profits in excess of £700k within 4 years at Aptus Personnel and a loss of £500k to £100k profit within 1 year at Creyf’s Recruitment. He also introduced the UK’s first computerized home shopping service which was located in Gateshead.

He currently works chiefly with Third Sector clients, running Marketing workshops, supporting organisational change and mentoring senior managers. He also works with businesses to set up Strategic Plans (using Balanced Scorecard techniques) and culture change programmes helping senior staff to clarify objectives and support learning and development.
